Protect your C55, C75, or C304 hydrophone with the Cetacean Research Technology Hydrophone Protection Cage. This rugged device is made from super strong polyurethane, which has similar acoustic properties to both water and the encapsulation material used in our hydrophones. Unlike metal cages that can cause unwanted resonant ringing to be picked up by the hydrophones they protect, our polyurethane protection cage does not ring.

In addition to protecting your hydrophone, the cage can be used to reduce flow noise as water moves past the hydrophone. This is easily and economically achieved by slipping a nylon stocking over the protection cage.

Not only can our protection cage can be used with the hydrophones we currently manufacture, but it also fits all of our older C54 models.

The protection cage can be quickly added to your hydrophone by placing the two halves of the cage over the hydrophone cable locking sleeve and securing the halves with cable ties. Adding a protection cage is a great way to extend the life of a new hydrophone or one that you may have purchased years ago.
